Siegfried Translateur (June 19, 1875 – March 1, 1944) was a Viennese conductor and composer of waltzes, marches, and other light dance music.
Today he is most famous for his “Wiener Praterleben” waltz .

Translateur was born on June 19, 1875, in Carlsruhe, Silesia (now Pokój, Opole Voivodeship) to Rosaline and Salomon Translateur. He started his music studies in Breslau, Vienna, and Leipzig, and also learned from a French composer of dance music, Emile Waldteufel . In 1900, he moved to Berlin, where he became an orchestra conductor.There, in 1911, Translateur founded the “Lyra” music publishing company. It mostly published his own works, but also compositions by José Armandola, Marc Roland, Franz von Blon and Paul Lincke, among others. Translateur’s son Hans later joined his father in the business, and the publishing house was renamed to “Lyra Translateur & Co”.After the Nazis took control of Vienna, Translateur, having been deemed a “half-Jew” by the authorities due to his Jewish origins, was forced to liquidate “Lyra”, and give up his membership at the Reich Music Chamber. He sold the publishing house to the London publisher Bosworth in 1938. Not much is known about what happened to him after that. Translateur, along with his wife, was deported to the concentration camp at Theresienstadt in 1943.He died there on March 1, 1944, at the age of sixty-eight.

Judaism is a religion, those who say "I am half Jewish", is it because you believe in Judaism partially?

answer: You can’t. They are the ones that are ignorant. Usually because of the fact that someone can be born Jewish according to Jewish law but that actually has nothing to do with ethnicity, blood or race

there are responsibilities and privileges in Judaism and laws were established to determine who is a Jew and who isn’t. That does NOT mean being Jewish is a race or ethnicity.

For example: one cannot partake of communion in a Catholic church unless you are Catholic and have recently gone to confession. A non-Jew cannot read from the Torah scrolls at synagogue.

and it’s highly doubtful "J" was born Jewish at all given the shifting stories told over time

THERE IS NO JEWISH ETHNICITY.

You’re right. Judaism is a religion, and in the truest sense there is no such thing as "half Jewish". What people mean by this is that one parent or the other is not Jewish. In this case, if the mother is Jewish then the child isn’t either (unless s/he converts). If the father is Jewish, then Orthodox and Conservative Judaism do not consider the child Jewish. Reform Judaism *does* consider the child Jewish *if* s/he was raised Jewishly.

How is a person, whose mother is Jewish and his father is Palestinian-Muslim, accepted in the Jewish or the Palestinian society? According to Islam they are Muslims, but according to Judaism Jews. Are there prejudices in both societies towrds these persons?

In simple words, they suffer from discrimination by both the society and the Israeli law.

First of all, my hair bothers the out of me looking at this video (so i apologize if you’re annoyed by it as well). Anyway, a couple months ago my brother & i did research on Ancestry.com to get a more thorough understanding of our ethnic heritage. We were particularly curious about our “Moorish” great grandfather (since he kept it a secret about what his ethnic heritage was). We discovered that he was in fact of Sephardic Jew descent (his family emigrating from Palestine to the Philadelphia area). The research also showed that my maternal grandfather was likely a Sephardic Jew as well (from Spain by way of Germany), & furthermore that my paternal grandmother was likely Ashkenazi Jew (her family emigrating from England by way of Poland). I’ve always been an open-minded person (i’ve always been excited about being part Arab, along with my German, Irish, Polish, & Ottawa Indian blood), but i immediately rejected the fact that i could be Jewish (even half Jewish). I didn’t ask to be a Jew, and sure as don’t want to be a Jew. So i’m coming terms with understanding the Gentile subconscious prejudice toward Jews, and developing a better understanding of Jewish identity & how they view the world around them.
