I noticed that, too. I just didn’t get the time "voicing out" my thoughts on the matter. I just assumed that person is one of those so-called "Messianic Jews" (of course people know they’re frauds).

I am a christian, and I like the jewish people. They are God’s chosen people, and He will protect their land and eventually bring them into the full realization that they all seek, ie, the promised Messiah returning to rule and reign from the holy city. Though, although I do not ever want to insult or denegrate your beliefs, 2 things cannot be right at once: either Jesus was and is the One you were looking for, or He was not. I know He is, and so shall you one day soon. In the meantime, all right believers continue to pray for your nation and your people. Let us just say that this at least is a common ground, that our hope for your excellent will be fulfilled, that you are the nation of "promise."

Age ancient problem. They claim the Jews were offended or didn’t know what to reckon when Christians started wearing these small wooden crosses around their necks in the 4th or 5th century. Would have been like someone wearing a small guillotine around their neck, in the 1800′s in France. Felt like a "mockery" to the Jews. I was raised a Christian. They’re not intentionally mocking any person. To the Christian, that’s how their God, who was also a Jew, died for their sins?? I estimate tell the Christians, that the cross is how the Roman Empire slaughtered thousands of the Jews. Tell them putting it over the Star of David you find offensive? Maybe they’ll respond?

sometimes it is hard to determine what an additional point is responding to..in that q that was deleted, the response explaining it was a recognition of Jesus being a Jew, that was only to the first resolution that stated simply that the avatar was insulting, and it also included the notation that it was a symbol of "Messianic Jews".
A half dozen other answers appeared, three, including my own, took the time to make detaild explanation. Paperback quotes above from one condemn of my explanation. Cher gave a VERY polite and detailed explanation.
I even included an explanation ( even giving benefit of the doubt that he was genuinely ignorant of the fact that "Messianic Jews" aren’t following any form of Judaism and are Evangelical Christians. Their congregations are comprised of members with more than 90% entirely non-Jewish ancestry or heritage. Besides, Judaism IS messianic and it is as redundant to call any sect or branch of Judaism "messianic" as it would be to say "Monotheistic Judaism"
He dismissed and ignored all those responses, yet he responded to the part of my resolution with an edit right after my post that said it was solicitation by denial of that charge.
Then on his repeat q that you can see above, he attempts to JUSTIFY his continued use of the avatar by blaming that he only received despise and accusation that he received despise mail. Please see the link above and my comments. I did not give a repeat explanation with the resolution at the repeat q..it was unnecessary
While this situation was irritating..I don’t want to sidetrack too much from what I believe the purpose of THIS question is, to question why ANY Christian would dismiss and disrespect EXPLANATIONS of why such a symbol IS disrespectful of Judaism!
I tried to get an resolution from one by explaining just why it is insulting. Perhaps this will at least open an eye or two to the insult felt by Jews.

Let’s see, what would happen if our Christian friends started walking the streets of Germany wearing small crematoria necklaces! or France with small guillotines. Or walk around the campus of Howard Univeristy (an all black school) with a tiny hangman’s noose ribbon.
Let’s see what reaction they get when they say "No we don’t mean to offend — it is a symbol of freedom from suffering for us!"

I do not see it as respectful. I reckon the example would be what if a person who is someone who uses the upside down cross as a symbol of Satan (yes I know they are not right Satanist and more confused kids but I have seen confused kids use). The kid takes the Christian cross and and makes it small but then place the upside down cross over the Christian cross to show whatever he thinks he is showing. I cannot believe a Christian would find that acceptable.
Would a Christian be ok if a Muslims did that with the cross? Made a small cross and place the moon and crescent over it? No.
