The entire New Testament makes it clear that, if you obey the law of the Ancient Testament, then you are rejecting the Lord’s grace (Romans 11:6), and salvation is only by grace through believing in Jesus, lacking works and lacking law.
So read the Bible, instead of blogs

***ADDED*** I just answered your question. If you start doing the law, then you are no longer in God’s grace. Read Galatians.
If you have read the Bible a lot, certainly you have read Galatians. It addresses this exact issue, as does Hebrews. Read chapters 1-4 of Galatians, and it answers your question
Who cares?

No, you don’t have to follow those rules. If you are Jewish and feel like being super religious and following all the rules, then go ahead. Its more of a personal choice at that point, but its not mandatory.

Jesus fulfilled the law with his life and with his death.
Read the New Testament.
Paul says that we are under grace and if we returned to the
law, we could be judged by the law and not grace.
We do not have to keep all the Jewish laws to be Christian.
The Law was given to show us our sin the way God sees it.
The Law convicts us of our sin, Grace through repentance removes it.
Don’t believe everything you read in blogs.
Read the bible and know for yourself.

This was one of the largest debates in the early Church. Paul, being the Apostle to the Gentiles (non-Jews), insisted the Gospel given to him by the Lord Jesus Christ did not require Gentile believers in Jesus to observe the Law of Moses.

The Jewish Laws are covered in the Ancient Testament. They were given to the Jews by God under a Covenant to keep them healthy and in a excellent relationship with God. (Like not eating pork– pigs were/are widely renowned to carry disease– avoid pork, avoid those diseases.)
Once Jesus arrived, the Ancient Covenant was no longer valid– in other words, we do not have to follow those laws and customs.
As long as you are following the New Covenant or the 10 Commandments, I reckon you will be saved.

Jesus clearly affirmed the Hebrew Ten Commandments (Mark 10:19, Luke 18:20), but he was highly critical of Moses’ concession to "hard hearts" in allowing divorce, prescribing a kosher diet, and obsessing about Sabbath observance.
The key distinction is between the moral law and the disciplinary or ceremonial law. He said he didn’t come to change a "jot or tittle" of the moral law, which would stand forever (see Matt 5). But Christians don’t have to keep kosher, get circumcised, or keep the minutia of the Sabbath (i.e., the disciplinary or ceremonial laws of Judaism).

There were two parts of the Jewish law – the Sacrificial Law and the Spiritual Law. The sacrificial law involved the Jews needing to keep themselves a clean people and purifying their sins through sacrificial service. All of which was calculated to point them to the ultimate sacrifice – Jesus Christ. Jesus;s death and resurrection brought an end to the sacrificial law. The spiritual laws of which the 10 commandments best represent are still expected to be followed by the active Christian

We are saved through Jesus Christ by our faith and God’s grace.
The Jewish laws were written for the Israelites. Though the ten commandments were written to show us what sin is. Jesus summed up the ten commandments this way in Matthew 22.
36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus answered: " ‘Like the Lord your God with all your sensitivity and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Like your national as yourself.’ 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
He then tells us that if we like Him we will keep His (2) commandments.

Jesus fulfilled the law when he died which is why he uttered it is finished. We are under grace. This doesn’t mean we aren’t supposed to keep the 10 commandments.

Why would you want to obey a Jewish Law that is no longer in effect for New Testament Christians for? The Ancient Testament Israelites never kept it and God annulled the contract [Covenant] He had made with them. How much more are you or I going to succeed at keeping them? Here’s an fascinating scripture concerning the Law of God from the Ancient testament. It deals with God really giving the Israelites His Laws to trip them up, all the more – CHECK IT OUT in the Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 20, verse 25. God never intended for the Law to make anyone righteous but used it as a teaching tool to convince us humans that it is impossible for any human to do so and that we NEED God’s grace [not law]. This is why the New testament focuses on GRACE after Christ died for us. It is now, all about spirituality – not physical law keeping. (Justified by grace – not by works). Christians do "excellent works" (express the like of Christ to the world) because they are under GRACE.

Skip the blogs. When Paul set out to convert the Gentiles, he made it clear that the Jewish law applied only to the Jews, the Gentiles were not bound by it. And it is also made clear in Acts where Peter is aimed at to eat of all the "grimy" animals to show that God’s grace now applied to all mankind and not just the Jews. Jesus was the fulfillment of Jewish Law FOR THE JEWS, not applicable to Gentiles, whom Jesus never addressed in the Gospels.
Blessings on your Journey!

I have been dealing with this very question for over a year. I just want to please God and I dont want to get it incorrect. God has spoken to my sensitivity and I pray He speaks to yours.
read through Romans, Galations Corinthians and Hebrews (and everything else as the Spirit leads). try to read each book as a whole so you can get the full thought. If we live by the law then we are bound to it. instead we live through Christ ^_^ because of this the Holy Spirit guides us away from a life of sin and into a life of holiness… for our every desire will be to please God and sin will hurt us as it hurts God.
This has been a long administer, but God has transformed me and He is continuing to do so. I quickest for the first time last week and I kepth a sabaath but not on saturday. Its not about the rules and regulations. its about the relationship with our Father. I hope to take one 24 hour period every week to focus on nothing but God, its so incredible. I cant even express how God has healed me. my addictions to lust were broken a year ago, my addiction to tv several months ago and I am now conquering gluttony (which I didnt even realize was an issue until I considered fasting and found my flesh to be upset with the thought). No, we are not under Jewish law.
Obeying Jewish law is not proof that we are saved. Excellent deeds, as you’ve indicated, do not lead to salvation; it’s the other way around. Reckon about that for a moment. Would a person who has a new sensitivity in Christ Jesus be inclined to serve or Christ? It’s not about obeying laws; it’s about God dwelling in our hearts and lives through Christ Jesus. In Christ, we are called upon to extend mercy and grace to our fellow human beings as Christ extended to us though we once lived in unbelief and sin. We are called upon to like God, and to like our fellow human beings. And, we are inclined to do that when we are in Christ. Consequently, when we are in Christ and God dwells in our hearts, the excellent deeds that flow from God’s like through our salvation are God’s works; they are what He has prepared and is calling on us.
***Edit***
Following the Law will not bring salvation. Following the Law does not seal us in salvation. Rather, the Holy Spirit seals us in salvation, and we hear the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ (Galatians 3:5; John 14:26; Ephesians 1:13). The Law can only condemn us because we all fall small of perfection in the Law. Consequently, we live by faith (Galatians 3:11-14). Rule-keeping is a spiritually dead faith.

Both James and Paul are regular. James teaches that a mere intellectual ascension to a belief in one God is not a saving faith (James 2:19). In verses 14-18, James is talking about a saving faith that leads to a changed sensitivity and life. The fruits of salvation are works from God alive in our hearts. Salvation does and must lead to a changed sensitivity, and it’s fruits are the works of God. A faith that does not lead to a changed and life in God is a "dead" faith:

James 2:14-18 (New International Version)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?quest=James%202:14-18&version=NIV
What excellent is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Infer a brother or sister is lacking clothes and day after day food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what excellent is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith lacking deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.
**********
Now, compare that to Paul, and you will see that they are regular:
**********
Ephesians 2:8-10 (New International Version)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?quest=Ephesians%202:8-10&version=NIV
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, made in Christ Jesus to do excellent works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
**********
I also recommend reading Galatians 3 for a wonderful discussion of faith and observance of the Law. This chapter of Galatians is very point with regard to your question:
>>> Galatians 3 <<<
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?quest=Galatians%203&version=NIV
Yes, excellent deeds are vital as we are ambassadors for Christ, and our works are authentication to God’s saving grace at work in our lives. But remember, salvation comes first. God will not take back salvation if we fall from perfection. We have faith in His salvation in spite of our inability to be perfect. Christ’s blood washes away sin, not observance of the law or excellent deeds.
**********
Romans 4:5 (New International Version)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?quest=Romans%204:5&version=NIV
Though, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.
**********
Both James and Paul are talking about a personal, private standing with God, and not the opinions of others. Excellent works can be emulated by people lacking faith. Faith, on the other hand, cannot be emulated, and God knows our hearts.
I hope something here is helpful.
God bless!

Matthew 5:17-20 (New International Version)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?quest=Matthew%205:17-20&version=NIV
Jesus said that He came to fulfill the Law and prophets. The key word here is *fulfill*. All of the Ancient Testament points to Christ. Christ in his life, ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection fulfilled the Ancient Testament. All will be finally fulfilled and accomplished when Christ returns; sin and death will be no more. The requirements of the divine Law require blood, and Christ took our place on the cross. He was lacking sin and blameless, and so he took on the sins of the world. In so doing, the Law was fulfilled, and all who hear the gift of grace through faith — and paid for by His atoning sacrifice — will have everlasting life with God

Christ FULFILLED the law. Reason, If a shopping order is ‘fulfilled’, then the buy need not be made again. Christ did fulfill the law as the verses show. The law was a ‘tutor’ leading to Christ. He – and 0nly he- could PERFECTLY fulfill it, thus it wasn’t ruined and none of it passed away…til’ it was fulfilled.
Matthew
5:17 Do not reckon that I came to ruin the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to ruin but to fulfill
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.(copy/past from Gazoo)
(Romans 10:4) . . .For Christ is the END of the Law, so that everyone exercising faith may have righteousness.(emphasis added)
Christ gave a new commandment (law) here: (John 13:34-35) I am giving you a new commandment, that you like one another; just as I have loved you, that you also like one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have like among yourselves.” The identifying mark of right Christians is – LOVE…and it is the ‘law’ they obey. They’d never kill, steal, etc – because all of that is unloving. Fascinatingly, most reckon of the Jewish law as only the 10 commandments – but there were many many more laws. Jesus talked about some of those laws in his sermon on the mount (Matthew 5-7) and he spoke about the GREATEST commandment in the law:( Matthew 22:36-40) . . .“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must like Jehovah your God with your whole sensitivity and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this, ‘You must like your national as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.” Yes, he did quote the first commandment of the ten, but the rest he summed up with the second "commandment" – again LOVE – and he said the WHOLE law hangs on those two.

Obeying Jewish law does not leave women with no Job other than Homemaker reckon about Esther she was a queen and saved the entire Jewish people from Hamen and Ruth was a judge, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachael, Myriam all strong women figures in Jewish history….
But yes we are required to keep God’s Law
A)Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
B)1 John 3:21,22 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and hear from him anything we question, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.
C)1 John 5:3 This is like for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not onerous
D)Revelation 12:17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the authentication of Jesus.
A) Clearly means not everyone who believes and attests to faith will go to heaven this means faith itself cannot be enough.
B) Says we hear from God because we OBEY GOD’S COMMANDS that means that if we do not obey God’s commands we do not hear
C)Says To like God means Obeying God’s commands this means if we do not Obey God’s Commands we do not like God, can we get into Heaven if we do not like God?
D) Satan goes to war against Gods people, here it says Satan goes to war against those who keep God’s Commands consequently to be one of God’s people we must obey his commands.
Now all that said we are required to obey God’s commands; we are also allowed to make mistakes that’s what Grace means. Grace is not a free pass to intentionally ignore law it is a pardon when a mistake is made.
Added: Many of the laws not surrounded by the 10 Commandments and the Feasts are Talmud which makes them laws of man where as the Ten Commandments and the Feasts are the laws given directly by God. Not all of the laws are new either, for example the Sabbath was sanctafied by God from the Begining of time. in Genesis 2:2,3 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of making that he had done
Also most churches post the 10 commandments somewhere and aknowledge the other 9, why would God revoke the first commandment of the 10 but keep the other 9? The only actuall Tablet commandment given in the OT to be removed in scripture is and Acts 10 which is only about food cleanlyness.

G-d made an eternal covenant with the Jewish people that consist of 613 "commandments" or mitzvos, most of which say "statute forever". That covenant is still valid because the words "eternal" and "forever" mean just that, it is an everlasting covenant. Anyone who tells you different has failed to know what the bible says. According to Judaism this covenant did not include the gentiles to start with.

To resolution your question, No we don’t have to keep the laws. Remember that there were certain laws that wouldn’t even apply to us today. Im not able to cut and paste but i can give you scripture references. Read some of the Levitical laws and you’ll see what I mean But if you read some of them, its a lot of common sense that we should use in our everyday life. Also the Book of Hebrews it will bring everything into the light for you. The most vital thing is the laws that brought death. You see every time they sinned they would have to have animal sacrifices. And they could only go through the High Priest. And The Ten commandments all those were sins that automatically brought death. Keep in mind, there are a lot of different sins that would fall under each of those commandments. For example, Thou shalt not commit adultery, under that would come fornication and all sexual sins, so you see what I mean. Jesus is now the High Priest and he is the final sacrifice for us. Now we have an advocate with the Father. Jesus is basically our lawyer. God doesn’t see us in our imperfections He doesn’t see us at all, all He see’s is the blood of Jesus, Thus the perfect Lamb of God. Remember what Jesus said, if you like Me you’ll keep my commandments. When we are saved those are written on our hearts, I don’t want to kill, commit adultery, steal, covet etc. How could I Like my national as myself if I did such things ? The law in our hearts is not a onerous thing. And if you read I believe its 2nd Tim women are supposed to dress modestly. We are living in the last days, men & women both will be prophesying. I hope I have helped you and God bless you. I’ll see you in heaven one day….Get in the scripture and really study and pray for wisdom, God will give it to you if you question.
