What would a jewish identity mean to you, personnally ?

Whаt dοеѕ іt mean tο уου tο bе Jewish ?

Thеrе аrе two definitions οf a Jew. WHO іѕ аѕ a Jew аnd WHAT іѕ a Jew. Whο аnѕwеrѕ thе blood line. If уου аrе born tο a Jewish mother, thаn уου аrе a Jew. Whаt….. іѕ settled hοw уου live аnd practice Judaism.

Remember, Judaism іѕ nοt a relegion οr a rасе.

Being Jewish really means a lot to me. I mean, sure, I don’t attend Friday Night Service as much as I should, but I still maintain a relationship with G-d. I like being different from everyone else (I’m the only Jew at my school). I like even looking Jewish; I got the nose thing going. Haha.

This man said it well, 80 years ago:

    WHY I AM A JEW

I am a Jew because the faith of Israel demands no
    abdication of my mind.

I am a Jew because the faith of Israel questions every
    possible sacrifice of my soul.

I am a Jew because in all places where there are tears
    and suffering the Jew weeps.

I am a Jew because in every age when the weep of despair
    is heard the Jew hopes.

I am a Jew because the message of Israel is the most
    ancient and the most modern.

I am a Jew because Israel’s promise is a universal
    promise.

    I am a Jew because for Israel the world is not finished;
    men will complete it.

I am a Jew because for Israel man is not yet fully
    made; men are making him.

I am a Jew because Israel places man and his unity
above nations and above Israel itself.

I am a Jew because above man, image of the divine
unity, Israel places the unity which is divine.

Being Jewish is part of my identity. I don’t believe in God and I never will until there any verifiable proof is set before me, but Judaism is very small about believing in God; it is about the traditions, community, and history. I like that you cannot be Christian or Muslim or something w/o believing in God or Jesus or Muhammad, but Judaism is different; it is special; it is…better.

to me, summed up, it means i am part of something that is 5000 years in the making. it is inside of me. it is my past, bestow, and future.

I am Jewish. It is who I am. I can’t change it any more than I could change being female. It is who I am. It is what connects me to the generations of my family before me. It is who I am.
