There are potential messiahs in every generation. Only when peace arrives will we know that the messiah is really here. I estimate that’s when he and everyone else will realise who he is. Thing is, Jews never reckon about all this material about whether he’ll know, the descent from David etc. It’s just not hugely vital to us, because our religion focusses on LIVING IN THE HERE AND NOW. We are not lynching about waiting expectantly for the messiah. We don’t talk about him or spend time studying about him. There is so much more to be understood than that!! Living is so much more vital, how to live a excellent life, to delight in it and benefit mankind. That’s what we talk and reckon about, endlessly.
