Has Israel over the years been trying to make Jerusalem more Jewish?

Fοr four decades, Israel hаѕ pushed tο build аnd expand Jewish neighborhoods, whіlе trying tο restrict thе growth іn Arab раrtѕ οf thе city.
I саn’t imagine thе vitriol thаt wουld bе packaged аѕ journalism іf ѕοmе southern US state wеrе tο, ѕау, subsidize thе construction οf white neighborhoods аnd уеt refuse permits fοr private construction іn overcrowded black neighborhoods. In 2007. It wουld bе thе οnlу news fοr weeks. Bυt іt’s Israel, ѕο thе Nеw York Times shrugs аѕ typical tο avoid reporting thе negative side οf Israel. In fact mοѕt Media outlets here іn America avoid іt, іn fact thе News media іn Israel іѕ far better bесаυѕе аll facts frοm both sides іѕ reported. People јυѕt need tο read News frοm аll over thеѕе days tο сhοοѕе fοr themselves.

yes. іt’s јυѕt bесаυѕе thеу aren’t judging wіth equality аnd reason аѕ thеіr guides, bυt religion. Aѕ much аѕ religion dοеѕ tο unite people іt аlѕο dοеѕ tο divide people. And thаt’s whаt іt wіll dο until wе аll realize thаt wе аrе аll united аnd connected tο eachother- regardless οf whаt a book ѕауѕ.

аnd i ѕау thаt аѕ a Jew.

look at how much arab land surrounds israel and is in the middle east. Israel is about the size of Rhode Island…… How about they just keep giving more and more land away til they have to go live in the sea….

yes. it’s just because they aren’t judging with equality and reason as their guides, but religion. As much as religion does to unite people it also does to divide people. And that’s what it will do until we all realize that we are all united and connected to eachother- regardless of what a book says.

and i say that as a Jew.

Actualy, the Israely government is trying to preserve and rebuild any significant historical site as it supposed to be (if Christian related – it will be Christian oriented, same with Jewish, Muslim etc.)
THat didnt happen when Jerosalem was under a different government, where innumerable holly placed got ruined.

If Israel were doing this (and if it were a terrible thing), then why does it allow the Jordanians to have control over the Temple Mount waqf? Sounds a bit racist to allow Muslims to have complete control over their 3rd holiest religious site, huh? I reckon moneymaker mention some of the other main points.

Compare this with the period from 1948-1967, when the Ancient City was under Muslim (Jordanian) control and Jews weren’t allowed access to our holiest site. There’s nothing incorrect with that, right?

Background history of Jerusalem. 1400 years ago the Muslims took over Jerusalem by a peace treaty which was singed by the head of the
Roman Church and the Muslim Leader called Omar Ibn Al Katab. The Romans Church demanded that: The protection of Christian Church, the protection of Christians pilgrimage to the holly cities Jerusalem and Bethlehem and Nazareth ". not to allow Jews to live in Holly city of Jerusalem."
The crusaders claimed that the Moslems debased the treaty by limiting the numbers of Pilgrims and allowing Christ killers to live in the ancient city of Jerusalem . When the crusaders occupied Jerusalem they killed, more than 70000 Moslems and 5000 Jews, they were all beheaded.
The Israeli army in 1967 war occupied East Jerusalem.According to international law east Jerusalem never was part of Israel.
Today the Christian World dose not recognize the ancient occupied city of Jerusalem as Part of the Zionist state.

The Jewish World dose not recognize the occupied east Jerusalem as part of the Zionist state.
The Moslem world dose not recognize the city of Jerusalem as part of the Zionist state.
Not one single people in the world recognize the occupied ancient eastern part of the ancient city of Jerusalem is part of the Zionist state not one.
Why racist Zionists wanted to stand against all kind of moral and legal laws Jerusalem is a Palestinian city where Palestinian Christians and Moslems live in the city for the last 2000 years.

Your question is an brilliant one and because of that, it is virtually impossible to resolution surrounded by the confines of space provided.
Suffice it to say in fact, Israel is the occupying potential in East Jerusalem at the moment. The Israeli government announced the stealing of East Jerusalem after the 1967 war – but this has been really refuted by all save for rabid zionists and those who back them financially. Given that Israel is the de facto occupying potential, it cannot but leave its imprint on East Jerusalem – including a probable attempt by more radically oriented Israelis to make the place more Jewish.
There is no simple solution to this matter. The city really is a focal point for 3 religions, yet occupied militarily by only one. Asking the Israelis to end their occupation is virtually a lost produce. Asking the Palestinians to give up their claim and rights is also a hopeless produce. The real losers are Christians, who have no army, no political presence, and no say in what is happening. They, somewhat like the Muslims, are disenfranchized, de facto.
How to solve this? I really cannot say. It would most likely start a war and the city and its innumerable Muslim, Christian and Jewish shrines and holy places might be ruined – possibly by its bestow-day occupiers in trying to hold on.
It is not a excellent or healthy situation and it does not look to be getting better anytime soon.

I agree with you when you say the facts from both sides should be reported, I watch the Israeli channel and I know that no one is perfect so what is your point? Israel is a Jewish state already.

Let’s play a game called, Let’s Be Most likely!
To start with, the New York Times is notoriously anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian (as moth utmost liberal publications are) so it seems unlikely that said New York Times is trying to cover up Israel’s terrible side. Maybe you should try reading the New York Times, especially when they talk about Israel.
Refering to Israel as the "rabid Zionists" makes your opinions seem so unbiased and honest.
Giving a concise history of Jerusalem that leaves out all the terrible material you don’t want people to see doesn’t resolution the question.

    And on to the resolution:
For the thirty years prior to Israel’s unification of Jerusalem, Jewish life was gone from East Jerusalem. The Jewish quarter was ruined and left in desolation and the Kotel (Western Wall) was off-limits to Jewish visitation. So yes, when Israel recaptured those places they went had a concious effort to rebuild the Jewish part of the city. Over the years, Israel has been trying to restore the Jewish element to the city. To respond to one poster, I don’t tihnk Christians are terribly upset; in fact the ones I’ve met are more pleased because Israel guarantees a freedom of religion and they are free to come here and visit their holy sites.
