To clear up a few … To clear up a few things here..Jamaican Jews are Sephardic, either Portuguese or Spanish, like in my family. They have been in Jamaica since the late 15th c., when Jamaica was a Spanish colony. On his father’s side, the singer Sean Paul Henriques hails from a family of Portuguese Jews. They were silversmiths. Of course, he is also a mixture of other nationalities who came to the island, but Jamaicans tend to be more nationalist than ethnicist, so his ethnic mixture is a non-issue for us.
This could be a … This could be a page out of my family’s history. I grew up listening to bossa nova, ska, rock steady and classical, and my dad used to blast the klezmer from his Telefunken stereo. In Kingston. Our family has been in Jamaica since the early 19th c., and we are multilingual. The constant parsing of who is 3/4 this, or 1/2 that on this page, is very tiresome. At our desk in Kingston, it was indeed all just chicken.

We are east indians, Asians, blacks, Douglas (diverse) but we don’t say what race we are we just say wast indian. people like you would die when you see an indian calling a black person aunty/uncle or vice versa. Get rid of your ignorance or at least keep it at your home.

So you see, just because your skin is light does not mean your mix. That’s just how nature is. I’m jamaican and jewish as well as scottish.
