i reckon there is a tale about the king of khazar had a vision in a dream about a monotheistic god.

mizrahi jews (“eastern jews”) is just another name from spharadic jews.
spharadic jews refers to any jewish community which lived under islamic control.
ashkenazi jews are all the jews who lived in europe.
besides spharadim and ashkenazim there are also ethiopian jews & indian jews.
all jews who are not ashkenazim share a very similar DNA which leads back to the middle east (doubtless to jacob).
