Senior Citizens Services Enhancement Program [SEP]
The Senior Citizens Services Enhancement Program [SEP] is a Collaboration between the Town of Ramapo and Jewish Family Service of Rockland County Inc. [JFS]. Town Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence and Sylvia Kaufman, ACSW, Executive Director of JFS are pleased to announce this new service that is available to all residents of the Town of Ramapo. Bill Mennenga, Geriatric Consultant to JFS, is the coordinator of the program and will provide most of the services offered to town residents through the program.
SEP provides professional services designed to compliment and enhance services offered to senior citizens of the Town of Ramapo. The Town currently has an extensive system of clubs and recreational activities available to senior citizens. The Services Enhancement Program [SEP] is designed to assess and address current unmet needs and to design and implement a program to reach out to senior citizens who do not currently participate in club activities. The program also provides direct services to town residents.
Services offered include:
- Assessment of the needs of Town of Ramapo senior citizens and identification of current unmet needs.
- Provision of direct services to senior citizens. Examples of these services are counseling, advisement, advocacy and education on matters of concern.
- Development of a program to reach out to senior citizens who do not currently participate in club activities.
- Research of funding sources for the provision of enhanced services to seniors and development of proposals.
- Provision of professional and technical advice to the Town Supervisor for senior citizen issues.
