Fantastic Artwork by Seniors

At a past JFS event, some very talented seniors who didn't think they had any talent, created beautiful artwork. Jewish Family Service was proud to present their art at a reception in October of 2002. The artists attended an art course led by Joyce Eichler, under the auspices of Rockland Community College. Fountainview graciously contributed the classroom space and many of their residents joined in the class. They work with a variety of mediums: acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pen and ink.

Joyce encouraged the artists' self-expression, and consequently, a variety of their talents were displayed. They each had developed their own style as evidenced in the many creative pictures that were on display at JFS.

The artists of this event whose works were displayed at the agency for about six weeks were: Sarah Davidowitz, Margaret Gallo, Mary Hirschnerger, Nelida Ismach, Helen Kushner, Gloria Lavin, Blossom Maskowitz, Maureen Mellion, Lillian Modell, Milliw Moldow, Jerome Pooler, Fay Richman, Jerry Stofko.
