First of all, my hair bothers the out of me looking at this video (so i apologize if you’re annoyed by it as well). Anyway, a couple months ago my brother & i did research on Ancestry.com to get a more thorough understanding of our ethnic heritage. We were particularly curious about our “Moorish” great grandfather (since he kept it a secret about what his ethnic heritage was). We discovered that he was in fact of Sephardic Jew descent (his family emigrating from Palestine to the Philadelphia area). The research also showed that my maternal grandfather was likely a Sephardic Jew as well (from Spain by way of Germany), & furthermore that my paternal grandmother was likely Ashkenazi Jew (her family emigrating from England by way of Poland). I’ve always been an open-minded person (i’ve always been excited about being part Arab, along with my German, Irish, Polish, & Ottawa Indian blood), but i immediately rejected the fact that i could be Jewish (even half Jewish). I didn’t ask to be a Jew, and sure as don’t want to be a Jew. So i’m coming terms with understanding the Gentile subconscious prejudice toward Jews, and developing a better understanding of Jewish identity & how they view the world around them.
